A brilliants innings of 150 by Hashim Amla has not only made him the fastest batsman in the world to breach the 3000 runs barrier but has also taken South Africa to the top of the table in all three formats of the game.

This is an unique feat that the Proteas have achieved and never did nay team could lead the table in all the three different formats, i:e Tests, ODI and T20.
They truly deserve to be on the top and have exhibited complete authority while doing so.

Here are few of the reasons as to what made them go the zenith of the game:

Unity in the team: South African have known to be very closely knit group and never can anyone hear any controversies going within the team. They respect each other and that can be proved by the fact that Graeme Smith never faced any sorts of trouble from his seniors like Mark Boucher, Jacques Kallis, Hershelle Gibbs when he took over as the captain of the team at such a young age. Seniors shared their expertise with him and he was successfully able to bridge the vacuum between the senior and junior players. And even now when he is no more the captain of the ODI side or the T20 side, that did not make him fall out with his successor AB de Villiers and they stay in complete harmony putting the game ahead of self-ego.

Match winning players: They have some of the best names in their team from the world of cricket including Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Hashim Amla AB de Villiers, Hashim, Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander, Morne Morkel to name a few. The team plays as a complete unit and backs each other well and if one fail to perform the other makes sure that they compensate for it. The team has more match winning players than any other teams.

Consistency: The reason for their domination in the game is their consistency. They might have been a choker in the World Cup, but then apart from it, one can never actually see them go through a slump for long time. If something is going wrong with the team’s performance, they make it sure to rectify and get back on track as soon as possible.

Ability to perform well in overseas conditions: They are one team who do not struggle much when they are playing away games. They have conditioned themselves well and have the ability to perform well in any given conditions. They have dominated completely at their backyard, something most of the teams could do not in the recent past, including Australia and India.
