New Delhi: Everyone might be waiting to see Yuvraj Singh back in the ICC World Twenty20, but then the former India skipper Sourav Ganguly says that he is worried about Yuvraj’s comeback more than being happy.
Yuvraj, who was out of cricket for almost nine months due to a rare germ cell between his lungs, has been included in the T20 squad after the BCCI were satisfied with his recovery and fitness.
"I am happy to see Yuvraj back in training. With the two T20 games against New Zealand, we'll come to know where he is and how much has he recovered. I will be wrong if I say I am not worried about his health. I have my fingers crossed," Ganguly said during a promotional event for the fourth edition of the World Twenty20 here.
Adding to it Sanjay Manjrekar said, “Yes, it is an emotional decision, but we want Yuvraj Singh back. He has shown the keenness to come back. He is now a source of inspiration for youngsters.”
Talking about Harbhajan Singh who is sidelined from the team for quite some time now, Ganguly said "You can call it my bias or love for Harbhajan but if in India you are picking three best spinners in the country, Harbhajan Singh's should be one of them. "
“I still believe one year was a bit too long time to keep Harbhajan out of the Indian team. The board should have spoken to him and told him that 'look we are giving you six months time to sort out your bowling'."
"You can't keep a bowler like him in domestic cricket for too long. If you have played for the country for 12 years, you are bound to have one bad season. But he has got close to 700 international wickets which is no mean feat," added the former skipper.
