Our bowlers came back beautifully to stop Sri Lankan charge: MS Dhoni

Pallekele: Mahendra Singh Dhoni praised his bowlers after India’s 39 runs win over Sri Lanka in the only T20 match. Indian in the match batted first and posted a total of 155 runs and it looked pretty gettable when Mahela Jayawardena got going, but Indian bowlers pulled back things and bowled out the home team in the 18th over.

Dhoni in the post match presentation ceremony said, “We performed well. Overall, it was a good game for us. We did slow down a bit in the middle overs but scoring runs wasn’t easy as the ball was swinging till the last over. It was not easy to slog and at the end of the innings we thought that we were 10-15 runs short.

The way Sri Lankan batsmen started it looked we are short but our bowlers came back beautifully.”
On the part-timers performance Dhoni said, “It is a big plus point for us that we have so many option. Even if our part-timers give 30-35 runs in their four overs it is good for us.”

Indian team has dominated Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka on that Dhoni said, “The wickets have changed over the years. When I first toured here the ball used to stick in the pitch and it never used to come on to the bat. They re-laid the pitch and that has been the difference.”
