Kohli has a game plan and he is executing it well, now it’s our turn to respond: Jayawardene

Hambantota: Mahela Jayawardene said that in-form Indian vice-captain, Virat Kohli has got the better of his bowlers and that they will have to come up with a new game plan to get him out early.

Kohli has scored three consecutive centuries against Sri Lanka and on all of that occasion he dominated the bowlers.

Jayawardene said that in the initial matches Sri Lankan bowlers did manage to pick Kohli’s wicket very early in his innings, but since then Kohli has come up with a game plan against his bowlers and it has worked for him.

He said that now it’s his bowlers turn to respond to this and come up with a plan against him.

Jayawardene on making a comeback into the series with a win said that they have learned from the mistakes that they did.

On team combination, he said that it is yet to be decided. Sri Lanka suffered a major setback when Nuwan Kulasekara got injured while attempting to take a catch.

He will be unavailable for the remainder of the series. He has been replaced by Nuwan Pradeep who has played three Test matches for the hosts.
