Hambantota: Virender Sehwag who missed a century in the first match against Sri Lanka in the five match one-day series said that it was very important for him to score runs and provide the team a solid start as he didn’t score many runs in the Australia Test series.

Sehwag who scored 96 runs said that it was good to be among runs as there are a lot of important Tests and ODIs series coming up. Sehwag who missed a ton said that giving the team a good start is more important than his personal landmarks. He said that hopefully he will be able to get past the magical three figure mark in the next match.

Speaking about his Delhi’s team-mate, Virat Kohli, Sehwag said that he is very talented and has a bright future ahead of himself. He said that the best thing about the way he plays is that he treats every delivery according to its merit.
