London: India's Leander Paes and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek cruised to the second round of the men's doubles at the Wimbledon tennis championships here on Thursday beating the Australian team of Colin Ebelthite and John Peers in straight sets.
The Indo-Czech pair hardly broke a sweat, requiring just an hour and a half to dispose of the unseeded pair 6-2, 6-4, 6-2.
The fourth seeds dominated every aspect of the game, converting five of the 10 break points while their opponents failed to break their serve even once.
They now take on the Israeli combine of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram in the second round.
The team from Israel did not have such an easy passage into the next round as they toiled hard to overcome Treat Conrad Huey of the Philippines and Dominic Inglot of Britain in five sets in their first round match.
