New Delhi: Star Indian all rounder Yuvraj Singh who is on a sabbatical from cricket from last year November has taken his first step to make a comeback to competitive cricket after he successfully concluded his first net session yesterday.
Yuvraj who is currently recovering after his rare germ cell cancer treatment in US has targeted a comeback in the T20 World Cup to be played be in Sri Lanka in September.
The player of the 2011 Cricket World Cup net session might have brought smile to millions of fans country wide and even though he got tired very fast he still remains optimistic about getting better soon.
“It was not a bad session, for the first time after about six months. I got tired after about 15 minutes but I am sure every day will be a better day,” said Yuvraj.
He is currently rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
"It is a big achievement for me hitting the nets. I felt happy, really good to be in the nets," he added.
