Euro 2012 2nd QF: Germany vs Greece: Players to watch out for...

Germany would take Greece in the second quarterfinals of the Euro Cup 2012. Now going by the way tournament has shaped up, Germany do look favorites at least on papers, but then Greece’s ability to hold on to their nerves and deliver at crunch situations is well known.

Greece won the championships back in 2004, but Germany has not won anything major in the recent past. But the last year’s runners up have some great players who are currently in great form. Greece might not fancy great names like their opposition tonight but then are sure give a hard time to the Germans with their defensive game play.

Both these teams have some good players in their side and they would be expected to shine in tonight’s crucial match:

Here are some of the players to watch out for:

Germany:

Mario Gomez: The striker has been in a great form in this tournament and has already scored three goals in the Euro Cup 2012. The skillful striker is particularly very good with his finishing and can get goal from any angle. He would be responsible to break the Greece’s defence tonight.

Bastian Schweinsteiger: The crafty midfielder’s has always enjoyed success while playing for Germany. He had a decent tournament till now and would be responsible for creating moves in the middle. His det pieces deliveries are also great and Greece would be wary of that.

Greece:

Georgios Samaras: The Celtic striker would be responsible for creating an opening for his team today. Samaras has been a proven performer for the team and lot would depend on him tonight.

Grigoris Makos: Makos is likely to replace Greece’s captain Giorgos Karagounis, who picked up a suspension in the last match. Now Makos is not as good as the skipper but then he would like to make the most of the opportunity that he gets.
