Euro 2012 1st QF: Portugal vs Czech Republic: Players to watch out for...

Portugal would take on Czech Republic in the first quarterfinals of the Euro Cup 2012 today in what is expected to be a cracker of the match. Both the teams did not have a start that they would have wanted but then they picked up well and now look a great force to look forward in the tournament.

Both these teams have some good players in their ranks and would be expected to fire as the team’s success would depend on them.

Here are some of the players to watch out for today’s match:

Portugal:

Christiano Ronaldo: He was criticized and was under lot of fire after missing out to score in the first two league games, but then his brace against Netherlands have shut everyone down. The way he played in the last showed that he is in great form and if he can keep it up he can create mayhem today.

Helder Postiga: The striker had a decent tournament so far and would like to carry on with it. He could not play well in the last match but then would like to contribute substantially in today’s match. Postiga is a good striker and on his day he can fire from any distance and angle.

Nani: The Manchester United is having a great tournament and has been a livewire in the middle. He is fast and would be responsible for manning the right wing. His main work be to link with Ronaldo and Postiga.

Czech Republic:

Tomas Rosicky
: The Tottenham midfielder is arguably the best player of the side and lot would depend on this man as to how their midfield plays today. He would be at the heart of all Czech moves and they would be banking on him.

Petr Jiracek: Jiracek has been at the top of his game in this tournament and has played a huge rule in helping Czech reach the quarter finals. It would again be on him today to give his team some crucial openings.
