Euro Cup 2012: Spain vs Croatia: Players to watch out for..

Defending champions Spain and Croatia, both of the teams, lead their group but none of them are assured of a place yet in the quarterfinals and would come all guns out to win the match. Spain do look to hold an edge over Croatia, considering their performance in the last match and also the players they have at their rank.

But then Croatia also played some good football in the tournament and would be looking forward to upset the champions.

Here are some of the players to watch out for and in all likelihood the result of the match would depend as to how these players perform:

Spain:

Andres Iniesta: He is creative with his playmaking, links well with the forwards and does perform defensive duties as well. He is one of the best midfielders of the world and more than anyone else Croatia will have to contain him if they want to win the match.

Cesc Fabregas: Fabregas has had a great tournament and has scored in both their matches. He would be looking forward to maintain his good run and contribute to their success once again.

Fernando Torres: He was their hero in the last match and scored a brace to help his side beat Ireland 4-0. The striker was under immense pressure and now the goals in the last match would calm his nerves. He now has 30 international goals and has become country’s third highest goal scorer of all times behind Raul and David Villa. If he can continue his form in this match, the champions can find them a spot in the knockout stages.

Croatia:

Luka Modric: The Tottenham striker has been linked to Chelsea due to his great season in the EPL. He is a very creative midfielder and his experience would help the Croatian midfield a lot. Had a decent game against Ireland and Italy. Modric would like to replicate his EPL form in today’s match.

Mario Mandzukic: He had a good tournament till now and has been at the top of his game and looked very creative. He would be leading the attack for Croatia today and his team would want him to keep up his good run.
