Euro Cup 2012; Czech Republic vs Poland: Hits and flops...

The co-host of the Euro Cup 2012 Poland crashed out of the tournament after a shock 1-0 defeat to Czech Republic. The Czechs after a loss in their opening game to Russia held on to their nerves to win both their matches to move into the knockout stages.

Czech Republic were in total control of the game and their synchronized game eventually paid dividends.

Here are some of the hits and flops of the match:

Czech Republic:

Hits
:

Petr Jiracek: The Czechs owe it to this man for making it to the quarterfinals of the tournament. He not only scored the winner for them but was a livewire on the flanks and formed an integral part of all their moves.

Vaclav Pilar: He missed a scoring opportunity in the first half but barring that he had a wonderful game. His speed saw the Poles wanting and was unstoppable on the left.

Flops:

Milan Baros: Yet another dismal performance by Baros in the front. He was woeful and even assisted for the goal he was anonymous for throughout the match.

Poland:

Hits:

Damien Perquis: He was their best player of the night. On the night when almost all Polish looked off colors the defender stood strong and showed good resistance.

Flops:

Robert Lewandowski: Lot was expected out of this man but he could not live up to it. He missed a clear goal scoring opportunity in the first half and in the second half was nowhere to be seen in action.

Rafal Murawski: He was culpable of the goal as he lost possession of the goal which saw the Czechs take it from there and eventually score the winner. And even if not for that he was woeful throughout the match and was taken off in the 73rd minutes due to his insignificant performance.
