Euro 2012--Sweden vs Ukraine: Players to watch out for…

With Ukraine, the co-hosts of the Euro Cup 2012 taking on the Sweden in the second match of the day, expect Ukraine to come hard as it their first European Championship. Before this the only major tournament they played was 2006 FIFA World Cup.

They did not have to go through the qualification and got a direct entry into the tournament. Ukraine would be looking forward to make the most of this tournament and would look to start strong whereas Sweden who is a major force in European football would try every means to start their campaign on a winning note.

Both the teams have some good players in their team and in all likelihood the outcome of the match would depend as to how those players perform.

Here are some of the players to watch out for:

Ukraine

Andriy Shevchenko
: Shevchenko is the highest goal scorer for Ukraine and has played with top clubs like AC Milan, Chelsea and Dynamo Kiev. One of the most prolific strikers of all times, the 35 year old has been playing with the Ukraine team since 1995 and has scored 46 goals in 106 appearances. Lot would depend on him if Ukraine has to win tonight.

Andriy Yarmolenko: He has been dubbed as the next ‘Shevchenko’. This young striker has already scored seven goals in 18 appearances and would hold the key for Ukraine.

Sweden

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: He seems to be getting younger as days are passing and with most of his mates such as Henrik Larrson and Fredrick Ljunberg already left the international circuit, he comes into the Euro with a good record with AC Milan. He has scored 35 goals this season and if he maintains his form things would get difficult for Ukraine.

Kim Källström: If Ibrahimovic holds the key up in front then he would be the man who would be leading the mid-field. Kim has to be in top form if Sweden has to win the match and if he can play the kind of football he plays that along with Ibrahimovic he can run riot.
