New Delhi: Indian Premier League witnessed few controversies this season, like owners getting banned from the ground, charges of molestation and sting operation that showed IPL players talking about spot-fixing but Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar has denied to put the blame on the tournament and defended the tournament. He said that a couple of episodes cannot do any harm to the tournament’s image and tarnish its image.
“I think there are one or two problems in every organization, but they do not make it bad,” said.
”I would say that spot fixing is not a good example to set. My advice would be to follow the people who set the right example. Follow the right direction and absorb all the good qualities,” he further added Tendulkar.
Talking about club over country concept, Tendulkar said that playing for the country is the highest honour. “Club can never replace country, but I think it is a brilliant platform. T20 gives opportunity to new players. It gives a chance to first-class players who sacrificed many years but could never play for India,” said the little master.
