Sehwag's out to prove a point and halt Dhoni's golden run in IPL

Indian Premier League is coming to its end, only two matches are left and on Sunday it will be decided who will lift the esteemed trophy after two months of intense and thrilling cricket. In today’s match MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will host Virender Sehwag’s Delhi Daredevils.

The match will see two of the strongest teams compete for a place in the finals where they will meet Kolkata Knight Riders. There are a lot of things to look forward in this match and one of those things is the battle between Sehwag and Dhoni. Before the cash-rich IPL began there was a talk of rift in the Indian team, Sehwag had bad outing in England and than in Australia and he was not picked for Asia Cup as he was supposedly rested.

Sehwag was also not included for the one-off T20 against South Africa and that raised the doubts as he is one of the most explosive batsmen that have played for India. Both Sehwag and Dhoni denied about the conflict in the team, but they were not convincing to say the least.

It has been around two months and IPL fever has taken over everything, but today’s match may light up the fire once again. Delhi has been commanding in this season, but was tamed by KKR in the previous match, Delhi depends a lot on their captain and it is his efforts that has changed the fortunes for the team which qualified for the playoffs only once before this edition.

Chennai has been the most consistent side since the tournament began, but the road to playoffs was difficult for them. Their fate depended on other teams and they got what they needed. In the eliminator Chennai outplayed Mumbai and showed how dangerous they can be in big matches.

Both Dhoni and Sehwag are big match players and they like a fight; both are attacking batsmen and can win the game on their own. They will be dying to see their team in the finals and that can raise the level of the competition.

Sehwag has been brilliant in the season; he was unstoppable in the league stage and won Delhi many matches, but from the last few matches he has struggled to get a start. He was rested from the last two league matches and did struggle a bit in the previous few matches. His form has dipped as the tournament has progressed and he will have to be at his best against Hilfenhaus and company.

MS Dhoni has had a different sort of tournament. He struggled in the initial few matches, but has raised the level of the game in the past few matches. He peeks at the right time and his innings against Mumbai won Chennai the match. He has a habit of performing at big stages and a match against Delhi is calls for a vintage Dhoni innings.
