A clinical performance by Deccan Chargers helped them deal a huge blow to the Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Hyderabad. Rajasthan required to win their last two matches to keep their hopes alive in the tournament but their defeat at the hands of the Chargers now have knocked them out of the tournament.

 

Chargers now have won three wins out of the 15 they played whereas Royals have seven of 15. On a day when lot was at stake for RR, there batting flopped very bad and all they could score batting first up was 126. Deccan Chargers easily crossed the target with five wickets to spare.

Bowling performance: Chargers’ bowling department put up a spirited effort and made sure that they did not allow the Rajasthan Royals batting line up to click at all in such an important match. There bowled a disciplined line and length and restricted Rajasthan to 126.

 

Akshath Reddy: Akshath Reddy batted well and scored 42 off 35 deliveries. His knock was laced with four fours and a six.

 

Flops:

 

Fielding: Even though they managed to restrict Royals to the lowest score of the season, their fielding again let them down. They missed three important catches up ahead in the innings and luckily for them none of the missed chances proved expensive for them.

 

Hits and flops of Rajasthan Royals:

 

Rahul Dravid: He was the only batsman who could show some resistance to the Deccan Chargers. He was at his elegant self and scored 39 of 35 deliveries which included five fours.

 

Flops:


Batting: Barring Rahul Dravid none of the batsmen could show any resistance to the Deccan’s bowling attack. They bundled out for 126 their lowest score of the season.
