New Delhi: Praising bowlers Varun Aaron and Umesh Yadav for bowling beautifully, Delhi daredevils skipper Virender Sehwag said that there was a little movement for the fast bowlers and Varun and Umesh used the conditions to their favour.
“There was little movement for the fast bowlers. Varun and Umesh bowled beautifully and took early wickets. It put pressure on Kings XI,” said Sehwag, adding that they were expecting Mahela to play till the end and finish the game. “It was difficult to go in and play your shots. He took his time and saw us through,” said Sehwag after Delhi Daredevils beat Kings XI beat Punjab by five wickets.
Meanwhile Kings XI stand-in captain David Hussey said that they fought the game out really well. “We fought out well but full credit to Irfan Pathan and Mahela Jayawardene. Delhi are a very talented team. Awana's sort of came from nowhere. He's been the find of the tournament for us as far as bowling is concerned,” said Huseey.
Meanwhile Umesh Yadav, who was awarded the Man-of-the-Match, said, "Normally, Viru pa gives us the ball and tells us to bowl according to ourselves. It is the short format and you keep going for fours and sixes even off good balls. I was getting some swing and that helped.”
