Hyderabad: With their away win against Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab are once again in the reckoning for a play-off spot in the IPL-5. Terming it to be a good win, Kings XI stand-in skipper David Hussey said that they haven’t played well at home, but his team would like to change all that. Hussey was also in praise for young Mandeep, who made a match-winning 75, and said that he was the one of the future players for India in all format of the game.
“We batted well. The batsmen set the tone for us. Mandeep in particular is going from strength to strength. I think he's one of the future players for India in all three forms of the game,” said Hussey, adding that he had a good day with the ball.
“We have two better spinners than me in the team. I am happy picking up two crucial wickets. As for our performance in home and away games, we haven't played too well at home. But we hope to change that,” said Hussey.
Decan Chargers captain Kumar Sangakkara said that the difference between the two teams today was the the bowling in the first four overs. “We bowled too short on a wicket that still had something in it for the bowlers. Kings XI showed us how to bowl and where to bowl. Mandeep and Dave batted really well,” said Sangakarra.
Meanwhile, meanwhile man-of-the-match-Mandeep Singh said that he had received immense support from David Hussey and that has helped him perform. “He has shown a lot of faith in me. I'm really satisfied today as from the beginning of the tournament I wanted to stay till the 15th over and I got the runs for the team."
