Deccan Chargers (DC) would host Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the second day of the match. Both the teams are coming into the match after suffering defeats in their respective matches and would like to change their fortunes. DC who has won two matches out of the 11 played are looking little more vulnerable than KXIP who are at a little better position and know that they have all the chances of making it to the play-offs provided they win all the matches.
Lot would be at stake and both the teams would give out everything in order to move up the rungs.
Here are some the players to watch out for in the match as in all likelihood they are expected to be in thick of action:
Deccan Chargers:
Cameron White: After going through a bad phase early on he has come back to form. White is a big hitter and he is the player on which the Deccan team depends heavily. White is a very good hitter against spin bowling and will play a vital role in the middle part of their innings. The Aussie can clear any ground with ease and the Kings will know it very well that they will have to get White out of their way to get to the desired result.
Shikhar Dhawan: He has batted beautifully throughout the tournament and is in the race to win the Orange cap. The left handed opener has almost all the shots in his book and can take any bowling attack. He would play a crucial role in the match against KXIP.
Dale Steyn: The number one Test bowler in the world will take the new ball for the Chargers. Steyn is a very talented bowler and is already considered to be one of the best fast bowlers in the history of cricket. He is a genuine swing bowler and bowls at a rapid space. Steyn can bowl some match changing spells and will be a threat to any batting line-up.
Amit Mishra: He may be struggling to get a place in the national team but he is a force when it comes to IPL. He is one of the highest wicket takers in the history of IPL and is one of the most sought out bowler. Mishra is a genuine wicket taker and has the ability to induce batsmen into playing wrong shots. He can bowl some big leg-breaks and is a tough bowler to hit out of the ground.
Kings XI Punjab:
David Hussey: He is a tremendous striker of the ball and has been in decent form of late. Hussey is one player who can turn the tides in his teams’ favour. He is a very good batman to have in the middle-order and can play some very big shots in the latter half of the innings. Hussey is a very efficient off-spinner as well and can bowl some real good overs.
Azhar Mahmood: The all rounder from Pakistan has already proved his worth in the tournament and would once be in thick of action against the Chargers. He can play some lusty shots towards the end of the innings and is very useful with the ball as well.
Praveen Kumar: He had a good outing with the RCB team in the first three seasons. But for Punjab he is yet to prove his worth. Praveen Kumar is an intelligent bowler and depends a lot on swinging the ball. Hyderabad pitch would offer something for him first up and he would definitely try and make use of it.
Piyush Chawla: The talented leg-spinner Chawla is crafty bowler and can take some important wickets. His wicket taking ability has always been his forte and this is the time for him to show that he can deliver what is expected from him. He is very handy with the bat as well and can play some decent shots.
