Mighty Gayle first player to reach century of sixes in IPL

 

New Delhi: West Indian Chris Gayle who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has become the first player to cross the 100 sixes barrier in Indian Premier League.

 

The left handed opener achieved the landmark after he hit Amit Mishra for a huge six in 10th over of the match against Deccan Chargers last Sunday.

 

Gayle who already holds the record of smashing 253 sixes in 102 matches in T20 cricket required only 37 innings to reach 100 sixes in IPL. He has hit 26 sixes for Kolkata Knight Riders in 16 innings whereas he belted 75 sixes of just 21 innings for RCB.
