IPL Match 51: Delhi Daredevils versus Kolkata Knight Riders: Players to watch out for...

It is going one cracker of a match when two local heroes clash against each other at the 51st matchup of the Indian Premier League at the Ferozeshah Kotla on Monday. Clash of the table toppers Delhi Daredevils led by Virender Sehwag against Kolkata Knight Riders captained by Gautam Gambhir. The match is anticipated to offer a lot of drama when DD, number one side, take on the KKR, the number two side. The result of the match would have a huge influence on the points table after the conclusion of group stage matches.

Both the teams have some great players in their ranks and the outcome of the match is likely to revolve around as to how they perform.

Here are some of the players to watch out for in the match:

Delhi Daredevils:

Virender Sehwag: He is leading the team from the front. Sehwag currently, on the number second position in the list of highest run getters, would definitely look to go to the zenith. He already has five consecutive fifties to his name and KKR would be wary of that.

David Warner: The explosive left handed batsmen is expected to play in his first match of the tournament today. Warner, who has joined after fulfilling his international duty, would be raring to go. He is a dangerous man and if he gets going, then KKR sure would have to run for covers.

Morne Morkel: He is in the race for the purple cap. Morkel already has 19 wickets to his name, and is just trailing by one wicket from leader Lasith Malinga. He has bowled viciously and his precise line and length has made him one of the most dreaded bowlers of the IPL.

Shahbaz Nadeem: He has been a revelation this season. The left arm spinner is bowling very cleverly and the way he bowls to Gautam Gambhir would be a treat to watch, considering Gautam’s prowess at playing spin bowling.

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Gautam Gambhir: Gautam Gambhir came into the tournament with a good form and he continued doing so. Number three on the runs list and a strong contender for the Orange Cap, Gambhir has been in his elegant best and is shouldering the batting responsibility of the team very well. Moreover his Delhi connection would be of great help to him and he could very well exploit the conditions at Kotla.

Brendon McCullum: This year’s IPL did not see Brendon McCullum as attacking as he is, but is still playing a very useful hand at the top of the innings. He can counter the Morne Morkel at the start of the innings and Kolkata would want him to play the role of an anchor at the top.

Sunil Narine: He is one of the surprises that have been unveiled this season. His sharp turn and unpredictable line makes it very difficult for batsmen to pick him. It would be interesting to see how he bowls to Sehwag.

Merchant de Lange: He is fast and bowls with precision. He was on fire against Pune Warriors and KKR would want him to repeat his performance again in this match.
