Sangakkara a relieved man, praises White, Reddy for their effort

Pune: Decccan Chargers finally managed a win after five consecutive defeats and a rain-hit draw when they beat Pune Warriors by 18 runs in an IPL league encounter on Thursday. And the relief could be seen on the face of Chargers’ skipper Kumar Sangakkara, who termed it to be a great effort from his team.

"We are finally on the board. It’s a great effort, especially by Cameron White with the bat. He was outstanding. And young Ashish Reddy played well," said Sangakkara at the post-match presentation.
Meanwhile Pune Warriors captain Sourav Ganguly said his bowlers gave away 15-20 runs extra that had cost them the match. "As I said at the toss I would have fielded, we gave away 15-20 runs extra. We did not have partnerships, someone needed to carry on," said Ganguly.

Cameron White, who walked away Man-of-the-Match award, hoped the win would be a morale booster and they would try keeping up the momentum. "It's a good feeling to get a win, been under pressure as a team. Hopefully it's the start of a few wins in a row," he said.
