Deccan Chargers will be looking to break their horrendous run in the IPL season V when they take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the second match of the day. Chargers are in desperate need of a win, they are the only team who does not have any points against their name and they will have to quickly change the stats if they want to have any chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

Kolkata Knight Riders will also be looking forward to a win as they are on the fifth position on the points table and would want that to change. The team from Kolkata has all the ammunition in their team to turn the tide in their favor. The match will be interesting as both the teams are desperate to win and they have some key players in their ranks, let’s have a look at some of the players who can make a difference to their team’s fortune:

Deccan Chargers:

Shikhar Dhawan: He is one of the few men in the Deccan team who is in decent form. Dhawan has been quite successful in the tournament and the best thing about his innings has been the strike rate with which he has scored the runs.

Parthiv Patel: Patel made a very good comeback in the last match and batted with tremendous control. He penetrated the gaps beautifully and dominated the bowling till the time he was on the crease. He will once again be looking to provide the initial burst for the Chargers.

Dale Steyn: He is the man who can win Chargers their first match. He was close to doing that but his bowling partner let him down. Against the powerful Mumbai batting line-up Steyn will have to be at his best.

Daniel Christian: His team depends a lot on his all-round skill and he will have to step up to the occasion. Christian is a good bowler in the death overs is very dangerous with the bat as well.

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Jacques Kallis: He has not delivered with the bat so far and he will be itching to change that fact. He takes pride in what he does and his team relies heavily on him. There is a lot of pressure on Gambhir and Kallis will have to share the responsibility with him.

Manoj Tiwary: He has been a consistent performer for the KKR’s and will be looking to maintain that, with Yusuf playing miserably it’s up to this talented youngster to provide them with the late flair.

Sunil Narine: He has been a revelation for the Knight Riders so far. He bowls some mystery deliveries and bowls them at an immaculate line and length.  His bowling in the death overs is a treat to watch.

Lakshmipathy Balaji: Balaji has bowled well and has deceived batsmen with his change in pace quite beautifully in the tournament so far. He is one of the most experienced bowlers in the side his team will expect a good performance from him.
