Rajasthan Royals vs Deccan Chargers: Players to watch out for…

Rajasthan Royals is all set to host Deccan Chargers in what is a very crucial match for both sides. Rajasthan is coming on a back of a superb all-round display in Bangalore in which they outplayed the hosts in every department. No one expected the Rajasthan team to beat the Bangalore team as convincingly as they did, Bangalore has some of the best international talent in their team and beating them would have given the Royals a huge boost.

Deccan Chargers on the other hand are still looking for their first points in the competition. The team from Hyderabad has only played two matches, but they will know that getting early points can come in very handy in the latter half of the tournament. In the last match that they played, they were beaten on the last ball by Mumbai Indians and they will be hoping that this time luck will favor them.

Both the teams have got some very effective players in their side; let’s have a look at some of them:

Deccan Chargers:

Kumar Sangakkara: The captain of the Deccan Chargers is one of the best players going around and will be a threat to any team. Sangakkara is the captain of the side and he will be hoping to lead his team from the front. He is a very skilled cricketer and is a great timer of the ball. The talented Sri Lankan can clear the boundary at will and he will know that there is tremendous pressure on him to do well, as his team’s future rests with him.

Cameron White: He has showed over the years that he is one of the most explosive batsmen in world cricket. White can demolish any bowling attack and can score at a very high strike-rate. The Aussie batsman is best suited for this format and will be looking to make a difference in this years’ IPL. White will have to play a big role if Deccan has to do well.

Dale Steyn: Steyn bowled one of the best spell in IPL’s history when he single-handedly took Deccan to a winnings position against Mumbai Indians. He bowled with tremendous pace and was virtually unplayable at times. He was let down by his team as he did everything that was possible for him. Steyn will be looking to bowl the way he did in the previous match and Rajasthan team will be very much aware of that.

Amit Mishra: This talented leg-spinner will have to step-up and take some responsibility if he wants his team to make a mark this season. Mishra has done well in the previous editions but has not been that effective in this tournament. With his fellow leg-spinners doing well for their team, Mishra will also want to make an impression.

Rajasthan Royals:

Ajinkya Rahane: Rahane is the present holder of the orange cap and going by the way he is batting he will keep it for some more time. Rahane is the only batsmen to have scored a century in this season and he was very close to achieving the feat twice. Deccan Chargers will have to get past him if they want to do well in this match. His battle with Steyn will be great to watch.

Brad Hodge: He is one of the senior statesmen of the team and is very important for Rajasthan’s plans. Hodge hasn’t got much opportunity to show his talent so far in the tournament and he will be itching to have a proper bat. Hodge is very dangerous and has a lot of experience playing in this format.

Brad Hogg: He is the oldest player in this IPL season, but that has not had any effect on his enthusiasm. Hogg is a witty customer and is enjoying his bowling. Hogg will once again hold the key for Royal’s success and will be looking to outfox Deccan batsmen.

Siddharth Trivedi: Trivedi bowled beautifully against Royal Challengers Bangalore and got four wickets, all of them bowled. He is a stump-to-stump bowler and loves to bowl on a track which is on a slower side. Trivedi with his cutters can be very effective on the Jaipur pitch.
