Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders will start their IPL- campaign at Eden Gardens on Thursday. The two teams are captained by very close friends from Delhi, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Both the teams will be looking to get some points on the scoreboard as it is a very long tournament and early momentum can really help a team. KKR will go into the match as clear favorites because the Daredevils are missing some of their key international players.
Let’s have a look on some of the players who can change the match for their respective team

Delhi Daredevils

Virender Sehwag:
He is the captain of the side and has tremendous responsibility on his shoulders. Delhi will miss the services of David Warner, Kevin Pietersen and Mahela Jayawaredene as they are busy with their national sides. It will be up to the swashbuckling opener to provide the initial momentum to his team. If Sehwag fires than Delhi will go a long distance.

Venugopal Rao:
He has played some brilliant innings in previous IPLs. Rao will have to step up to the occasion as a lot of foreign batsmen are missing from the side. Rao can hit some lusty blows at the end of the innings and his team sure do require that from him.

Morne Morkel:
The tall fast bowler from South Africa will lead the attack for the Delhi team. Morkel bowled beautifully in the last Test match against the Kiwis where he looked in good rhythm. Delhi’s fate will rest on this fast bowler.

Roelof Van Der Merwe: He is very effective with his slow left arm bowling. He can bowl at the death overs and can bowl Yorkers as well. He rarely gives any room to the batsmen and will have to lead the in-experienced spin department of Delhi

Kolkata Knight Riders

Gautam Gambhir: The KKR captain has been in good form off late. Gambhir can take the attack to the opposition and can dominate the spinners. He will play a vital role in the KKR batting and will look to play for the complete quota of 20 overs. Gambhir can increase the rate of scoring with ease at any point of the game.

Yusuf Pathan: Yusuf Pathan is going into the tournament as one of the best striker of cricket ball. Every eye will be on this Baroda batsman as he sure can pack a punch. Pathan can change the course of the innings in the matter of few overs and will be raring to go.

Brett Lee: The leading fast bowler from Australia is looking leaner and meaner. He has bowled some terrific spells in the recent past for his country and will be looking to do that for KKR. Lee is very much capable of picking early wickets and the KKR team will be banking on him to get the all important wicket of Sehwag.

Iqbal Abdulla: Abdulla showed some real class in the last season and a lot will be expected from him. He can put a stranglehold on the run-scoring as he bowls with immense control. He also has the ability to break the partnerships and is a vital cog in the KKR bowling unit.
