Srikkanth confident of Team India’s comeback

New Delhi: India's chief cricket selector Kris Srikkanth backed Team India during the hour of crisis and said that they will come back strong and said that losing and winning is a part of the game.

“After remaining a cricketer, I know the game very well. Cricket is a game where sometime we lose and sometime we win. We should not forget that it is the same team which brought World Cup a year back. But yes, we did go through a rough patch after that for about six to eight months, but I am sure the men in blue will get back to their winnings ways soon,” said Srikkanth who was in the city for a movie screening.

Defending his role as a chief selector, he said, “It has been a part of the game for very long now. Whenever a team wins they praise the selection and if they lose they blame the selectors for choosing a bad team. So it is all in the game and I do not have much to say about it,” he added.

Speculation about Sachin Tendulkar retiring from the game has been snubbed by Srikkanth and he surged everyone to leave the maestro alone. “"Let Sachin only decide about it. He still has the hunger and can score many more runs for the country,” said Srikkanth.

Talking about the escalation of Virat Kohli and talks revolving round the corner that Virat is a prospective captain material, Srikkanth said, “Kohli is a very good player, but it would be too early in the day to whether he would lead the team in near future.”
