Hyderabad: Saina Nehwal who defeated Shixian Wang in the finals to win the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold title on Sunday said that she was inspired by the India batting great Sachin Tendulkar to win the title. It is noticeable that Saina won her first major title after a gap of one year just after Sachin completed his 100th international hundred.

Sachin reached the landmark when Saina was playing her semi-final match, Saina said that when she heard about the news she got inspired and strived forward to win the title. 

Saina said that Sachin is a great ambassador for India and he truly deserves a Bharat Ratna.

Saina had a bad last year and so did Sachin, the little master was waiting for that elusive hundred for more than an year and ace Indian shuttler  was also struggling in that period. Saina is one of the major contenders to win a medal for India in the upcoming London Olympics.
