New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils skipper Virender Sehwag feels that with the batting line-up and the bowling attack at his disposal, his team can be a serious contender in the IPL Season V.
"I have got the players I had asked for in the auction. With the likes of Mahela Jayawardene, Kevin Pietersen, Ross Taylor and Andre Russell, we are hopeful of making our presence felt in the tournament," he said, adding that with Indian bowlers like Varun Aaron, Umesh Yadav and Irfan Pathan and other all-rounders he can give the chance to foreign batsmen to be a part of the eleven.
"Basically T20 is a batsman's game and if the bowlers can restrict the opposition to 150 or 160 or even 180, we can chase that down with the kind of batting we have got," said Sehwag, adding that a quality spinner could have been an asset.
"I think we tried everything but we were not left with enough in the auction purse to buy a world class spinner. We needed some top-class batsmen rather than one good quality spinner.
