Ground can play a spoil sport while defending big totals, says Dhoni

Mirpur: India after a relatively longer time has given some respite to its fans. After comfortably winning by 50 runs in the Asia Cup opener against Sri Lanka, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni feels that it is "difficult" to defend totals at the Shere-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur considering it has a "very fast outfield."

The ravishing captain said that that the outfield was really fast and the ball was coming onto the bat pretty well. So the bowlers will have to be at their best when bowling second. Dhoni also added that hopefully as the tournament progresses it may slow down a bit.

Dhoni also admit that he was caught a bit worried when Mahela Jayawardene was sending the Indian bowlers on a leatherhunt.

He said that it was difficult considering that Mahela was batting really well. The wicket had changed a bit and the ball was coming onto the bat nicely. Praveen had an off-day and Jadeja also went for runs.

At that time, Mahi was effectively two bowlers short and had to bring back his part-timers. He gave credit to Praveen that he came back well in the second spell and was nicely supported by Irfan and Vinay.
