Badminton: Bad day for Indians in German Open Grand Prix, Arvind, Kashyap, Sindhu lose in singles

New Delhi: Though Arvind Bhat came back from behind to level the set score 1-1, the Indian shuttler however lost to Hyun Il Lee of Singapore in the third set in the men's singles second round and crashed out of German Open Grand Prix Gold in Mulheim an der Ruhr on Wednesday The final score read 19-21, 21-19, 15-21 in favour of the Singaporean shutller.

Meanwhile, Anand Pawar beat Eetu Heino of Finland 21-12, 21-16 in the first round singles match, but P. Kashyap and Ajay Jayaram had lost in the first round itself.

In the women’s singles Gu Juan (Sing) defeated P.V. Sindhu 21-14, 21-15 in the first round while V Diju and Jwala Gutta lost to the pair of Wai Hong Wong and Hoi Wah Chau (HK) 18-21, 21-9, 21-19 in the first round doubles match.
