Auckland: Argentine Eves defeated the Black Sticks 4-1 in the first of the four tests at the Lloyd Elsmore Hockey Stadium in Auckland today.

Argentina, the World Number 2 team started off well and they were quick to score two goals within the first fifteen minutes of the match. New Zealand however pulled one back in the 17th minute.

A strike from the goal mouth melee after a penalty corner saw Argentina score their third goal just ahead of the breather.

After the breather Argentina started from where they left and scored their fourth goal to put the game beyond the Black Sticks reach.
