Awaiting clash against Great Britain at Sultan of Johor Cup: Harmanpreet Singh

Harmanpreet Singh 26New Delhi: With slightly more than two weeks to go for the 5th Sultan of Johor Cup which is slated to take place from 11th October to 18th October 2015 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia the India Junior Men team has upped its preparation at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi where the camp is training under the Coach Harendra Singh. Being the defending champions for the upcoming tournament the Indian team is aiming to retain the title and if they do so they will mark themselves as three times reigning champions.

Playing along with a total number of five teams namely, Australia, Great Britain, Argentina, Malaysia and Pakistan, India will be seen rubbing their shoulders against their arch-rivals Pakistan in the opening match of the tournament.

One such player who is practicing really hard on converting the penalty corners is Harmanpreet Singh and who will aim at ensuring that opportunities do not go a waste.

Speaking on the tournament, Harmanpreet Singh said, “While I am waiting to convert the penalty corners, I am even looking at working on how best to push the opponents back. I am working on ball possession and counter attacks for which I am practicing hard on this. Our greatest opponent according to me will be Great Britain as they are a strong team. During the last edition even we had lost one match and that was against them, though in the finals we were lucky that we outwit them and won the tournament. This time around I am waiting for our clash against them.”
