New Delhi: To prepare and keep the coaches up-to-date and in line with the latest information and developments within international hockey, Roelant Oltmans, Director High Performance will conduct a one day High Performance Coaching Clinic with around 30 coaches at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex in Rohtak, Haryana on August 27. The High Performance Coaching Clinic will be organised by Hockey Haryana in association with Hockey India.



Hockey India realising the need to teach the new techniques of coaching that is being adapted internationally, kick-starts this initiative with the aim that the coaches learn and implement their learning through these sessions in their day to day coaching of players at grass root level. These one day clinics are a part of a regular program by Hockey India.



Speaking on the initiative, Hockey India’s Director High Performance, Mr. Roelant Oltmans said, “The one day coaching clinic being organized for the coaches is extremely important as hockey the game is in a phase where new techniques are being introduced almost on a daily basis by all international teams. Hence, there was this realization that the coaches who are involved in the development of the game as well as the players at grass root level are aware of these changes which will be further utilized in sharpening their skills as coaches and implementing the changes in the game play as well as the budding players. With this initiative of holding these clinics with coaches we are hopeful that we will start making the youngsters learn the game in line with international standards”.



Lending his expertise to the Coaching Clinic, Hockey India’s Director High Performance Roelant Oltmans will share with the coaches about the advancements in the game and how to prepare the young guns keeping the evolving high speed game in mind. During these sessions Oltmans will showcase videos relating to coaching and preparations. Apart from this he will even show videos of moments or parts of international matches which will help the coaches understand how to build on the strategies as well as better the team coordination on the field.
