Hua Hin, Thailand: The India final of one of the finest and biggest events on the corporate golf calendar – the Audi quattro Cup 2016 tees off at the very challenging Banyan Golf Club here on Saturday. As many as 12 teams consisting of two players each from 10 different cities will be battling for a spot in the World final to be held in Barcelona, Spain later during this year.
The teams, who arrived here on Thursday, went through their paces on Friday to acclimatize themselves with the course conditions before the final round on Saturday. Played on a unique “Greensome Stableford” format, where a team consisted of two golfers drawn randomly and the top team amongst the Audi owners from each of the 12 legs qualified for the Audi quattro Cup India finals.
The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, is celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year and has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world bringing together over 100,000 golfers from 54 countries. The Indian edition of Audi quattro Cup saw more than 1400 golfers vying for honours to be a part of the India final.

The Banyan Golf Club, which since opening up in 2008, has been voted amongst the top three golf courses in Thailand. It is in readiness to host the mega event for the first time and is characterized by its true greens and pineapple plantations that line its undulating fairways.
