Vivek Mehta, Country Head Callaway Golf India says, “Golf is one of the fastest growing sports in India but there are very limited opportunities available for the juniors compared to the general growth in the industry. The future champions of Indian golf will emerge by providing more and more opportunities and exposure to junior golfers. We want to nurture talent at the grass root level and want to prepare India to identify talent for Olympics. This is a platform where if they perform well, they will get a chance to become the best junior golfer of the country and move abroad and compete internationally.”
Anitya Chand, Partner, K&A Golf is of the view that, “A lot of juniors have the talent and aspiration to become golf champions but they don’t get a platform like this where they can showcase their talent. Callaway has done a brilliant effort to provide juniors a proper experience of a professional championship tour. Such tours will eventually help them grow and boost them further towards good performance.”

The Callaway Junior World Golf Championship has grown from 475 juniors participating from seven countries initially to 1100 participants every year representing from 54 countries today.  By holding such regular competitive tournaments Callaway primarily aims at promoting junior golf in India.
