Mohali: Castle Sports Golf Academy at Mohali Golf Range will be conducting the Summer 2017 Golf Camp from May 22 onwards with batches starting every week till June 19.
The major attraction of the 10-day Summer Camp is that it is a flexible camp and children can join and rejoin anytime during their summer vacations to complete the 10 sessions as some may be travelling out of station in between and their travel plans should not interfere with their golf.
It is open for both boys and girls of 5 years’ of age onwards and membership of Mohali Golf Range will not be a hindrance as the camp is open to non-members as well. Participants will not have to buy any expensive golf equipment as all golf equipment, balls, coaching fees, club fees, etc, will be included in the fees. The camps will be conducted by Preetinder Kaur, Professional Golfer and Coach A of Mohali Golf Range and other experienced coaches under the guidance of Arjuna Awardee Harmeet Kahlon. After the camp capable children will be selected for advanced camps both individual and group and course playing.
Kahlon, Director, Castle Sports Golf Academy, at Mohali Golf Range said, “We are offering one free trial session to every child on any day as per their convenience before they register for the camp. This camp is also an effort to remove the impression that golf is a rich man’s game only as our fee starts from Rs 2400 for 10 sessions. Many student members of Mohali Golf Range like Yuvraaj Singh Hara have started winning prizes in national level tournaments and have also participated in International Tournaments. As Golf is an Olympic sport, we would like to widen the pool of young players, including young girls to who will in the future hopefully represent Punjab and India in the Olympics and Asian Games. A beginners’ putting competition will also be conducted during the camp.”
The camps will consist of golf instructions in group sessions with separate batches for beginners and advanced children (both boys and girls) and adults can also participate. The 10 session fees is Rs. 2980 per child for non-members and Rs. 2400 for members and will include 10 sessions of coaching, free balls, free child specific US Kids golf sets, free entry and cover golf orientation, warm up, hitting, putting, chipping, bunker play, etc.
The morning timings are 7:00-8:00 am and the evening timings are 5:30-6:30 pm and 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
