Secunderabad: Gauri Monga will lock horns with Aditi Ashok, Mehar Atwal and Ridhima Dilawari as the Usha Army Ladies and Juniors golf 2012 golf championships gets underway at Secunderabad on Monday. Monga, who took some time off to concentrate on academics, finished second last week at the Usha Southern India Ladies event last week in Bengaluru, will start as one of the strong favourites.
Last week’s winner Gurbani Singh has taken a week off, but the field includes Aditi Ashok, winner of the Usha Delhi Ladies event, which was the season opener.
Behind the second placed Monga, last week Aditi finished third, while Mehar and Ridhima were tied for fourth.
Amandeep Drall, who led the first round, and was later disqualified in the tournament for a wrong card, will try to make amends for last week.
The event will see almost 50 starters in various sections, Ladies besides Categories A to D.
Last week’s winners in Category C Tanrika Singh and the Category D winner, Vasudhara Tihara, will also be teeing off on Monday.
