Euro 2012: England coach Hodgson praises 'clever' Welbeck winnerKiev: England coach Roy Hodgson has heaped praises on Danny Welbeck for his backheel flick for the winning goal in England's 3-2 win over Sweden.

The 21-year-old Manchester United striker's 78th-minute finish on the turn from Theo Walcott's cross capped a comeback victory for England after going 2-1 down to a determined Swedish side.

"It was a very clever finish with a type of pirouette that made it made it very difficult for the goalkeeper," Hodgson said.

"It was a goal, in my opinion, that was very worthy of winning the game."
England now play Ukraine Tuesday in the knowledge that a draw against the co-hosts will be enough to secure a place in the quarterfinals. (IANS)
