Gopichand: Saina can win medal at London Olympics

Former All England champion and National coach Pullela Gopichand said in a statement to The Hindu that ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal can win a medal at the upcoming London Olympics provided she prepares well in the next three months.


He said that Saina has done tremendously in retaining her no. 4 ranking and if she continues to do that by playing well she has every chances of winning a medal at the Olympics.

A report in Hindustan Times says that Sachin Tendulkar's name has not been not been recommended for Bharat Ratna the highest civilian award. The report says that sports ministry has recommended the names of Major Dhyan Chand the legendry hockey player and Tenzing  Norgay, mountaineer for the prized award.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has criticized the Indian team management for not playing the left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha in the Adelaide test match. Ganguly said that after seeing the wicket he knew that the pitch will help Indian spinners more than the fast bowlers, reports Hindustan Times.
