If not a cricketer, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar could have been a doctor or a tennis player

If not a cricketer, Master Blaster could have been a doctor or a tennis player. According to a report in NDTV website, speaking to a group of school children at an event here, the legendary cricketer said that, while sports was always his first choice, the medical profession could have been his calling as well.

Married to Anjali - a doctor by profession, Tendulkar said that being a tennis player and a doctor were his alternatives if he had not succeeded as a cricketer. "If cricket had not happened, I'd have maybe become a doctor. Now, it's difficult to imagine life without cricket. But I think I'd have been a sportsman for sure - as my second love was tennis, I'd have perhaps become a lawn tennis player," revealed the 40-year old-cricketer who retired from all forms of cricket last year.

Meanwhile, according to a report in Zee News website, Sachin Tendulkar shared his experiences of life with the students of Velammal Group of Schools, who gave a gala welcome to the retired Indian batsman during a felicitation programme on Saturday.

"There will be tough times in life but you should never give up. In tough times tough people last," said Tendulkar, who along with his wife Anjali were welcomed by Velammal Educational Trust Chairman MV Muthuramalingam during the felicitation programme.

A report in Deccan Chronicle quotes Sachin saying, “All records are meant to be broken and if my records are broken, it better be by an Indian.”

Sachin also shared his experiences of life saying “There will be tough times in life but you should never give up. In tough times tough people last.” Sachin landed in the city on Friday morning accompanied by his wife Anjali.
