Seeing Aussies 0-2 down is a horrible feeling, says Michael Hussey

“Seeing Aussies 0-2 down is a horrible feeling,” says Mr Cricket Michael Hussey. Hussey was the cornerstone of the Australian middle-order and after his retirement it has become impossible for Australia to fill in that slot. Aussies have a fragile batting line-up which is now an open secret but Hussey believes that they need to show the faith in the playing eleven and from there on expect them to go for strength to strength.

Australian team led by Michael Clarke has failed to impress so far and it needs to be seen how they bounce back in the Third Test o the series which will be played from Thursday at Old Trafford. England is leading the series 2-0 and if they even manage to pull out a draw then they will successfully retain the Ashes. Second Test was the hall mark of England’s dominance as they managed to overpower Aussies by handing them a defeat by 347 runs.

Australia is not having a good track record this year as they lost the series in India by 0-4 and are now pretty much in same situation in the Ashes. Meanwhile the reports published in The Times of India quoted Hussey saying, "I feel for the guys. I've certainly been in that situation as well where we haven't been playing that well and losing games and it's a horrible feeling in the dressing room.”

"I've been in touch with a few of the guys through text messaging. I know they're very proud to be wearing the baggy green cap and I'm sure we'll see a revival in the last few Test matches,” he added.

Hussey is quite confident that Darren Lehmann is trying his best to revive Australian team from the recent setbacks and we will see that magical touch in next few days. "That gives you a chance of playing your best cricket, when you're relaxed and not having all these thoughts and doubts and stresses and pressures on your mind," he said.

Meanwhile former Aussie batsman was quoted by The Indian Express saying, "England have got seasoned, hardened players who've been there and done it for a long period of time and know what they have to do.”

"And they're prepared to be patient and disciplined for long, long periods of time."

Selectors needed to show faith in the current Australian team which is under transition and might take a bit longer after the retirement of Mike Hussey and Ricky Ponting.

"It's never easy to get in the Australian team. They're all very fine players. We need to show faith in these guys and keep believing in them," Hussey said.

Meanwhile the legendary wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist was quoted by DNA saying, "I think the guys are down and out after the previous Test match. But I do think Darren Lehmann in charge will help bring that group together. I think Darren de-stresses players. They've just got to get into this next Test match."

Australia will be unable to regain the Ashes if they fail to win at Old Trafford.
