Virender Sehwag is batting like a No. 11 batsmen, says Wasim Akram

Virender Sehwag is batting like “a No. 11 batsmen”, said former Pakistan Captain, Wasim Akram of Sehwag's poor batting in this edition of Indian Premier League. Sehwag has been on the line of fire for his poor batting but by far this is the worst accolade he ever received throughout his glittering career.

Wasim was quoted by Hindustan Times saying, “He has been running away from the responsibility which is quite clear when he is not coming onto open the batting for DD. He is not even a pale shadow of the Sehwag we all know."

“I am a big fan of Viru’s batting and had always supported him in tough times. But his fitness levels are not looking of the desired standards and add to that his poor hand-eye co-ordination makes him look like a number 11 batsmen. He is one of those batsmen who just need a good start to convert it into a big one but he had almost failed in every match after getting good start,” former Kolkata Knight Riders bowling consultant was quoted by Indian Express.

As per the recent reports of Times of India, Akram was quoted saying, “He is just one innings away from getting his dream-run back. Though, his road for making a comeback in the Indian team looks quite tough to me especially after his failures on a consistent basis in the recent matches for Delhi Daredevils. It seems that he is not working on the tips chalked out by Viv Richards to get him in some sorts of form.”
