Happy that I'm finally giving back something to cricket: VVS Laxman

Mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad VVS Laxman is happy that he is finally giving back something to cricket which took him to heights as a player. He is happy to cherish his new role of mentor and is looking forward to turn around the fortunes of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the sixth edition of Indian Premier League.


According to the recent reports in The Hindu, Laxman was quoted saying, “I want to share all my experience with these youngsters who are about to start their international careers. It gives me a satisfaction that whatever I earned from this game, I am giving back a piece of it. It’s always a good to try out new things and I hope whatever I will learn it will benefit my team at the end. To keep the winning momentum going, will be a key to our success and I hope we will win this edition.”


Sunrisers have some established names such as Krishnamachari Srikkanth as co-mentor, Tom Moody as Chief Coach, Waqar Younis as bowling coach in their support staff.


As per the recent reports in Indian Express, VVS was quoted saying that, "It’s a great learning curve for me as players are looking up to me as a trouble-shooter. Best part about mentoring is that so many youngsters are passionate to learn those cricketing skills from me. I was not a part of the franchisee from the couple of years but making a comeback is always a great thing. Tackling a tough situation teaches you a lot of things and with my rich experience of that will surely going to help the team.”


Meanwhile the reports in Times of India, Stylish wristy batsman was quoted saying, "Srikkanth and Tom Moody have that ability to do wonders with their mind-set and strategies and I am looking forward to work with this duo. Our bowling department is in the hands of one of the best swing bowlers of all times, Waqar Younis which will play a pivotal role. As far as squad of Hyderabad is concerned, it looks very nicely balanced. When a squad is having experience on one hand and good pool of young talented players on the other, it’s always a great asset to the team.”
