Ravindra Jadeja gives India the required balance, says Indian captain MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni said on Saturday that Ravindra Jadeja gives India the required balance. According to a report in The Times Of India, Dhoni said, “We don't have a seamer all-rounder except Irfan Pathan. So we'll obviously want Jadeja to play the all-rounder's role. He's quite settled in his bowling. It's his batting we need to work on. Once he plays 30-40 more matches, he'll start reading the game well and will bat accordingly..

Dhoni also said that Bhuvneshwar and Shami could move the ball and with two balls from two ends. “They are our best bets in the first 10-15 overs.”

Meanwhile Alastair Cook said, "The damage had been done in the first innings. It's always difficult to defend 155. For that we needed a few early break-through but that didn't happen. It's frustrating when you don't play to your potential and we were punished for that. There are quality players in our batting line-up who can win a match on their own on a given day but today we were shaky and scratchy."
.

Meanwhile Deccan Chronicle quotes Dhoni saying that it important for India to win in the first game at this venue. “We got off to a good start. Our bowlers did great in not allowing the opposition to make many runs and that's why we were in a position to chase and win the match easily. Overallour team's performance was “perfect”.”

According to the report Cook said, “Batting is a concern. We needed to bat well here and clearly when you don't do that, you get punished. We have quite a few players in our dressing room, who on their day can deliver the goods.”
