Kapil supports Dhoni's idea of having spinner friendly tracks at home

Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev has extended his support to MS Dhoni’s view on preparing spinner friendly tracks at home for Test matches.

A report in the Times of India writes that before the series against New Zealand, Dhoni had made it clear that he would prefer host associations to prepare spinning tracks to fluster teams like Australia and England, who prepare bouncy tracks at home.

Supporting Dhoni's point of view, Kapil said, "I think the team management knows what is best for them. Winning is the most important thing. It doesn't matter if you play on a turning track or not."

Talking about his reconciliation with the BCCI, Kapil said, "I have a business and am very happy with it. I am not keen on any post in BCCI even if they offer me something.”

He also spoke about the retirement of VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid and feels that it would not prove to be an insurmountable problem for the team. "I don't think this is a big problem. It's just a feeling that some individuals are irreplaceable. And this feeling was there in every generation but history tells us that we overcame that. Now also we will see through this phase. We have good replacements for all the slots,” Kapil was quoted in the report..
