I have never allowed success, or the lack of it, to affect me as a person: Sushil Kumar

London Olympics silver medallist, Sushil Kumar said that he never lets success or the lack of it affect him, says a report in The Hindu.

“I have never allowed success, or the lack of it, to affect me as a person. I am extremely fortunate to have good teachers, mentors and coaches. My parents keep reminding me the importance of being humble and acknowledging the contribution made by all well-meaning people. I feel I am very lucky to have the kind of friends I have. They have not treated me any differently, whether my performances are good or not. I think, I am blessed,” Sushil said.

Another wrestler who made the entire nation proud by winning a bronze medal, Yogeshwar Dutt said that it was a matter of lie and death for him to win at Olympics.

“All the pain vanished once I got the medal. For years, I dreamt of winning an Olympic medal. After coming close to it in Beijing, I knew, London could well be my last chance. I gave it all. The medal means the world to me. It would have been very difficult for me to live, if I had not returned with a medal”, said Yogeshwar.
