Kohli has got more confident against our bowling attack and we will have to come up with a game plan: Jayawardene

Virender Sehwag who announced his comeback in a great fashion by scoring 96 runs in the first ODI of the five match series against Sri Lanka said that it was a very important innings for him and he is happy with its outcome, says a report in The Hindustan Times.

“It was very important for me to score runs and provide a good start to my team. I hadn't scored runs in Australia and this innings is important for me as we will be playing a lot of Tests and ODIs”, Sehwag said after the match.

Sehwag who missed out his hundred by just four runs said, “It's not important whether I get a big score or not but if I can give a good start and add around 50 to 100 runs for the first wicket, it helps the team. As far as my individual performance is concerned, I hope that I will score one in the next match."

On Virat Kohli, Sehwag said, “He is a very talented player and has a bright future. The best thing about his batting is that he plays every delivery on its merit.”

Meanwhile, NDTV reports that Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene is really worried about Kohli’s form and they will have to quickly come up with a game plan to dismiss him early, he said “I think initially when he startsed his career we picked his wicket quickly. But like any good player he has come up with a game plan and he is executing that pretty well. Just the last few occasions he has got more confident against our bowling attack. It's up to us now to come up with a game plan.”
