Yuvraj in need of serious match before making a comeback

A report in Mail Today writes that even though chief national selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth has backed Yuvraj Singh to make a comeback to Indian team, the star Indian all rounder admitted that his plans have not taken concrete shape yet.

The report further says that talking to the reporters; Yuvraj said that he would require some serious match practice to come back in shape. “The Ranji Trophy is after the World Twenty20. In any case, one can’t prepare for T20 by playing Ranji Trophy. The serious match practice that I can get ahead of the World Twenty20 is the Moin- ud- Dowla Trophy and Buchi Babu Invitational tournaments, but I am still not aware about their dates.”

In an interview with The Hindustan Times, Yuvraj said that even though his initial training regime was tough, his body has started to improve well with every session. He said that he has worked on his fitness, muscles have stopped trembling, and he needs to gradually build strength. He said that he would require two months to be ready for the grind and has set his eye on the T20 World Cup, but prior to that he would want to assess his form and fitness in the two T20’s against New Zealand.

The Times of India writes that for Yuvraj Singh it is a dream to play for India again. "My training session has been good so far. When I first went to the NCA, I started putting in one-and-half hours of training and then increased it to three hours. In the last 10 days, I've been putting in six hours daily, slowly increasing the work load. I've been batting, bowling and fielding too. It will take a little more time to achieve complete match-fitness," Yuvraj was quoted by TOI.
