Luke in 'molestation mess': Victim says she won’t keep quiet and fight for justice

Zohail Hameed, who has accused Royal Challengers Bangalore player Luke Pomersbach of molesting her at a Hotel, said that she won’t keep quite and fight for justice. “It’s devastating to be molested by a stranger, see your fiancé being beaten up bloody and frantically ask for help in a foreign country, to no avail,” says Zohail Hameed, the 28-year-old US national to the Times Of India.

“All this happened to me in one never-ending night. I am determined to fight it out. I don’t want my picture covered up. Let it be out there. I don’t want to hide my face. If this is how a US national is treated, I wonder how Indian women fare. I want justice,” said Zohail, adding that they met Luke Pomersbach at a party after the match got over.

“I just want him (Luke) to get punished and not be let out on bail. He should get the maximum punishment for what he has done.”

Meanwhile Pomersbach has rubbished the allegations. "(I am) shocked to be in this position. I can't believe this is happening and I'm really disappointed when people make things up," Pomersbach was quoted as saying by The Weekend newspaper. The victim claimed that half an hour after the incident, Luke went to the room again and tried to force open the door, but was stopped by a security guard, Vikas Yadav. The hotel refused to comment. "We are verifying everything minutely. Only after that can we comment," said Anand Rao, GM, Maurya.

Meanwhile after watching the CCTV footage provided by the police, Metropolitan Magistrate Navita Kumari Bagha enlarged Pomersbach on bail and said that no offence under section 452 of the IPC for 'house-trespass or wrongful restraint' is made out against him, says a report in The Indian Express.
The court granted him bail on a personal bond of Rs 30,000 along with two sureties of the like amount. The magistrate directed the cricketer to surrender his passport before it and asked him not to leave the country without its prior permission.

"No material evidence for offence under section 452 of the IPC is made out against the accused. I am granting him bail on a personal bond of Rs 30,000 with two sureties," the court said.
