Inter Milan sack manager Ranieri

Rome: Inter Milan sacked manager Claudio Ranieri, according to a statement released by the Italian Serie A club.

"President Massimo Moratti and Internazionale wish to thank Claudio Ranieri and his staff for the professionalism and commitment they have shown through these past months," the statement Monday read.

The Nerazzurri were defeated 0-2 by Juventus Sunday, to increase the pressure on Ranieri only for Massimo Moratti to say: "I think Ranieri will remain until the end of the season," Xinhua reported.

However, the statement confirmed Ranieri's departure, meaning that Inter are looking for their third manager of the season. Gian Piero Gasperini lasted just weeks at the start of the 2011-12 season. (IANS)
