Madrid: A brace apiece Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo helped league leaders beat Real Sociedad 5-1 to go six points clear at the top of the Spanish Primera Liga table.

Madrid who had dropped four points to Malaga and Villarreal in the past six days went up in the match within seven minutes after Higuan drew the first blood.

Ronaldo scored the second one in the 30th minute when he slotted home off a Kaka’s pass marking his 100th Primera division goal. made it two just after the half hour as he latched onto Kaka's through ball to calmly slot past Claudio Bravo for his 100th Primera Division goal, and Benzema added the third just five minutes before the break.

A minute later, Sociedad however pulled one back when Xabi Prieto's deflected shot found the nets.

The story remained the same after the break and Madrid went on to score two more through Benzema and Ronaldo.

Meanwhile Barcelona also picked up a 2-0 victory over Mallorca.
